Wheelie Workshop is at first glance, a fairly innocuous form of children’s entertainment:
We rock up at events, venues and festivals with a marquee, our trained Bike Doctors, a hot glue gun and a mountain of flowers, dinosaurs and other decorative devices so that the kids of all ages can spend time decorating their bike (or any other wheels they have with them –scooters or pushers, we’re not snobby!), themselves or their parents, before going for a spin in a parade!
Wheelie Workshop is the very embodiment of our philosophy around not only getting more people onto their bikes but reminding everyone of just how much fun riding a bike can be.
A Wheelie Workshop is held within a blocked off area or park, inviting local families, passersby, or visitors in a friendly, safe, inclusive, accessible and entertaining environment.
The event also provides essential information to parents on correct helmet fitting, seat height and strategies for riding with young people. Something for young and old!
Free children bikes to borrow, decorate and practice riding.
The Bike Doctors from Wheelie Workshop rock up with a whole range of fun stuff in tow. And of course they will bring a rack with a couple of kids bikes and helmets to borrow so there will be no one who misses out!
Kids who don’t bring their own gear take turns decorating bikes, helmets and themselves. And then take a few pedals and practice riding and learn some skills from the Bike Doctors!
At the end of Wheelie Good Day the Bike Doctors will DONATE 3 BiCYCLES and helmets to some families who would very likely benefit from a bike for their child.
