Port Melbourne Bikefest

In 2013 The Squeaky Wheel was engaged by the Port Melbourne Business Association and The City of Port Phillip to program and deliver the Port Melbourne Bikefest. The event took place over four blocks of Bay St with a full road closure, with bicycle-themed activities for young and old from morning into night. We engaged local retailers as partners and worked with local bicycle and community clubs to develop additional programming. The full day street party featured demonstrations, workshops, participatory events and a live music program, bike polo demonstrations, bike decorating, a cargo bike obstacle course, maintenance workshops, bicycle trivia, short sprints, celebrity goldsprints, a swap meet, and trackstand and footdown competitions. Roll Up VIP Bicycle Valet and photo booth was on site to welcome bike riders, and families enjoyed a fun day out making the most of their local street closed to traffic. View some images from the event below.
